It all starts with a one-off consultation...
After you have telephoned Andrew to discuss your requirements and location, if he has availability, he will schedule a one-off consultation meeting with you and your child.
At this first meeting he will show you his academic credentials and his Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (Child Protection & Safeguarding).
After that, he will assess your child's academic ability through giving a short lesson; before discussing with you - in detail - your ambitions for your child's secondary education. He will also present to you any additional options - with regard to schools - which he feels might suit your child.
The initial consultation is normally 75 minutes in length, and is chargeable. However, neither party is obliged to continue after the first meeting, should they not wish to do so.
If both parties are willing to continue, then a regular weekly lesson slot is scheduled. Lessons normally vary in length from 75 minutes (1 & 1/4 hours) to 120 minutes (2 hours). The length depends upon whether your child is in Year 4 or Year 5; upon their state of academic readiness for the exam; upon your budget; and upon Andrew's timetable.
Important note: for safe-guarding reasons, lessons can only take place in a reception room, kitchen or study in your home - not in your child's bedroom. Thank you.
